The Daigneault News
weeks #11 & 12
November 17, 2017
Happy birthday to Sydney! Sydney celebrated her birthday this week in style with the secret birthday bird of Katroo greeting to a special birthday share to recieving a special birthday book made by her friends.
Sydney was also voted by the class as our November student of the month. She recieved a certificate at our November Panther Pride Assembly. Way to go!
In addition to celebrating, I would like to thank the many parents and students who came to our student-parent-teacher conferences last week. Students have been focusing on selecting and working on student learning goals in various subjects/areas. It was a time to celebrate accomplishments and efforts towards their goals.
Homework is due on Monday, November 27! Homework packet #10 will be sent home on Monday, November 20 and due the following Monday.
These past few weeks have been busy with assessments to preparations for our big event- Grandparents/Special Friend’s Day 2017! Students are excited to present their ABC’s of the First Thanksgiving followed by a Reader’s Theatre of The First Thanksgiving. Please remember our schedule for guests is 8:45-10:45. We hope you can join us for a fun morning!
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: weeks#11 & 12 newsletter and a Grandparents/Special Friend’s Day 2017 schedule
We have a snack break every morning upon arrival. Please make sure your child has a healthy snack and drink.
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler weather is approaching and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer.
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
