The Daigneault News
weeks #13 & #14
November 30, 2017
These past two weeks have been busy!
The week of Thanksgiving was a short two day week but it was one of the busiest! Students worked on their special play and book for the big event Grandparent’s/Special Friend’s Day! A huge round of congratulations goes out to my fabulous class for an outstanding job with The First Thanksgiving play and The ABC’s of the First Thanksgiving book on Grandparent’s/Special Friend’s Day! The students were adorable in their costumes! They read fluently and with expression- our two goals! Way to go!
This week has also been very busy and productive. Students focused on wrapping up Student Learning Goal units and completed their post assessements. We are getting reading for our next six week round of new Student Learning Goals starting next week!
Happy birthday to Tyler! Tyler celebrated his birthday this week in style with the secret birthday bird of Katroo greeting to a special birthday share to recieving a special birthday book made by his friends.
Nicholas was voted by the class as our December student of the month. He will recieve a certificate at our December Panther Pride Assembly. Way to go!
Deleayni was our Star Student of the Week. We learned some cool and interesting facts about her. Come check out our Star Student Star in the hallway!
Homework is due on Monday, December 4! Homework packet #12 will be sent home on Monday, December 4 and due the following Monday.
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: weeks #13 & 14 newsletter December Scholastic flyer and a report card.
We have a snack break every morning upon arrival. Please make sure your child has a healthy snack and drink.
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler weather is approaching and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer.
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
