The Daigneault News
Week #36 May 25, 2018
This week second graders took part in our school wide Community Day. Grade 2 students visited each second grade classroom and created materials to give back to our surrounding communities. In Mr. Gurney’s classroom students focused on designing Meals on Wheels paper bags. In Mr. H’s classroom students worked on designing placemats for Clover Manor Nursing Home. In Mrs. Daig’s classroom students worked on designing wooden bookmarks and sewed fabric flowers for the residents at Clover Manor. Everyone had a great time giving back to the communities!
The Book Fair is here! Since our class has scheduled library time on Monday and it’s a holiday our class will be visiting the book fair on Thursday, May 31.
Don’t forget cereal box ocean projects are due May 29!
Homework is due every Monday!
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: week #36 newsletter
Don’t Forget:
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler/warmer?? weather is here and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer. Please bring all winter gear every day! In Maine you never know what the weather will be like from from one momment to the next!
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
