The Daigneault News
Week #32 April 27, 2018
We are getting ready for our new science unit and we need your help! If you have any of the following materials for our unit we would love the donation. We need 180 Pinto Beans, 120 clear plastic cups, 1 large bag of potting soil, 3 boxes of clear quart size Zip-Lock baggies, 60 paper plates, 360 cotton balls and the book titled, A Seed is Sleepy by Dianna Ashton.
This week we also started our final writing unit of the year- Informational Writing. Students selected an ocean creature to help write their non-fiction mini informational books. If you have any resources for your child or the class we would love to borrow them!
In math students wrapped up unit 7 on measurement and data.
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: week #32 newsletter and unit 8 math newsletter
Don’t Forget:
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler/warmer?? weather is here and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer. Please bring all winter gear every day! In Maine you never know what the weather will be like from from one momment to the next!
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
