The Daigneault News
Week #27 March 16, 2018
Happy Snow Day #8, Happy Snow Day #9! This was an unusually short week! Kiddos had only one day this week! With all the snow and conferences and workshop day it was productive! Students were excited to share their Student Learning Goal Portfolios and celebreate!
Come check out our wacky classroom door! Students decorated our door with their favorite Dr. Seuss character or created their own Seuss style character! Also, check out our “Save the Trees!” Lorax projects too!
Congratulations to our February Student of the Month winner- Natalea! Due to the storm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 we will celebrate at the make up Panther Pride assembly on March 22, 2018 at 9:30a.m. in the gym. Way to go!
Save the date! April 12, 2018 at 9:30a.m. grade 2 students will be performing at the April Panther Pride assembly! We will present a short presentation on our next social studies unit- “Our Nation’s Symbols”!
Our class has been modeling solving small and big problems as a morning meeting activity. Ask your child the difference between a small and big problem and role model how we can solve them!
Keep those Dr.Seuss, Bike-a-Thon and Mrs. Daig’s Reading Logs coming! They may all be combined into one! Please indicate if if was a book read or pages. Also, add the total number of minutes read!
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: week #27 newsletter
We have a snack break every morning upon arrival. Please make sure your child has a healthy snack and drink.
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler weather is here and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer. Please bring all winter gear every day! In Maine you never know what the weather will be like from from one momment to the next!
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
