week #20
January 27, 2017
Hello from Mrs. Daig’s 2nd grade!
Due to the snow day on Tuesday, January 24, Weather in Your School will reschedule for April 25.
Don’t forget: Homework packets #7 went home last week and are due back next Monday, January 30. This week students have participated in “Partner Pair Share” activities to share/develop ideas to help them complete school/home assignments on time. My goal is to model how we can be responsible students.
Progress reports and Heart Healthy forms went home last Friday. Please return the “Please sign here” portion of the progress report and the completed Heart Healthy form by February 1, 2017.
This week in math students worked on “open number lines”. Ask your 2nd grader to model what it is.
Students may bring in Valentine’s Day cards for the class on Tuesday, February 14. If you would like to send in a treat or paper products we would love the donation! We have 16 students in our class. Please see the class list in your child’s folder for cards.
Monster Mash Valentine Box Project: Please create a lovable monster Valentine box to hold your cards. Please make sure your name is clearly labeled on the front. Also, please make sure the card opening is large enough for a goodie bag. Please bring your Monster Mash Valentine Box to school by Monday, February 13. Please do not bring it to school before it is due to limited space. Have fun creating!
Students have gym class on Tuesdays. Students need to wear appropriate dress and sneakers. Students may keep a pair of sneakers at school.
Please encourage your child to bring warm clothing for recess! Don’t forget to label all clothing! Students should bring their winter gear EVERY day.
Our class is in need of the following items: magazines, tissues, baby wipes, stickers, notebooks, and old board games to transform into Daily 5 games (for example: Scrabble). We greatly appreciate any donation you can give to our class.
Thank you to friends who have donated items or time to our class. We greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness!
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
