The Daigneault News
week #10
November 3, 2017
In the four short days we had this week we had one of the busiest weeks yet!
Due to no school on Monday students celebrated their Harvest Story Bash on Friday. The pizza box books were awesome! In addition to the story bash we also had Ferry Beach Ecology School come to P.C.S. on Tuesday and worked with the kiddos on classifying like real scientists! Tuesday afternoon the grade 2 team roatated classes to do some fun educational Charlie and the Chocolate Factory activities in honor of the book by Roald Dahl. On Wednesday students concluded the unit with the original movie. Friday was the Harvest Story Bash along with our Student of the Month of November voting. The class voted for Sydney! Way to go!
Homework is due on Monday, November 6! Homework packet #8 will be sent home on Monday, November 6 and due the following Monday.
Thank you to Lena and Mrs. Beauparlant for joining us on Thursday for our Volunteer welcome. The class helped to create an expectation chart and then worked with their volunteer guest. Everyone was engaged and had fun working on their student learning goals. If you would like to volunteer in the classroom or help photocopy please contact me by next Wednesday, November 8 so I can put you on the schedule for Thursday, November 16.
Please check your child’s Weekly Tote (white folder with the blue paw print) for weekly papers. Please remove the papers and return the tote to school. This week your child tote should have the following news from the classroom: week #9 newsletter
We have a snack break every morning upon arrival. Please make sure your child has a healthy snack and drink.
Treasure Box donations needed! If you have any items such as:
McDonald Happy Meal toys, bookmarks, pencils, small toys, pens, books, small trinkets (Dollar Tree items), notebooks, crayons, Playdough, necklaces, toy rings, erasers, Matchbox cars, or fun note pads we would love to have them for our Traesure Box! Students will have Treasure Box Day next Friday. Students have been earning Paw Coins for great classroom behavior and they are super excited to cash them in for treasure!
Cooler weather is approaching and your child will need to dress appropriately. Please send layers of clothing with your child so they can adjust, as the days get cooler or warmer.
Monday is Library Day! Don’t forget to bring your books! Students have gym class on Tuesday. Please send sneakers and appropriate dress.
Toys and electronics are not permitted in my class unless they remain in the students’ school bag. It is the responsibility of the student if a toy/electronic is lost or damaged.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
